The extreme sports community is mourning the death of Felix Baumgartner. He was the daring Austrian skydiver who made headlines in 2012 with his unprecedented jump from the edge of space. Sadly, he died on July 17, 2025, at the age of 56 in a paragliding accident in Italy.
What Happened ?
Felix was flying high in the skies on a motorised paraglider over Porto Sant’Elpidio , a beautiful coastal town in central Italy. Unfortunately, local reports suggest that he suddenly suffered a medical emergency while in the air, which caused him to lose control of the glider.




Unfortunately, he crashed near the pool of a holiday resort called Le Mimos Camping Village and died on impact.
